Tiller’s Folly is a national treasure”. – Peter North, Edmonton Journal
Iconic Western Canadian Folk/Roots ensemble TILLER’S FOLLY (Bruce Coughlan, Nolan Murray and Laurence Knight) is the Pacific Northwest’s critically acclaimed, internationally travelled acoustic power trio, planted at the forefront of a bold new movement in progressive roots music. A highly regarded Canadian Celtic group-turned-historians, this award-winning ensemble has shifted to what might be more aptly termed Acoustic Roots Music. Many of their original songs have mined the rich history of the West Coast, and have been featured on their albums STIRRING UP GHOSTS Volumes 1 and 2. With multiple awards and nominations, Tiller’s Folly is poised to breakthrough to the next level throughout North America and beyond!
“With a wealth of talent already at his fingertips…a sensational voice and a way of viewing the world unique and well-seasoned beyond his young 18 years…it’s already something magical.” – Amelia Naismith, Black Press.
Dawson Rutledge is a singer-songwriter from Cranbrook. In 2015, he was awarded the top male musician scholarship by his high school and a District/Authority Scholarship by the Ministry of Education for his exceptional musical ability. Dawson’s very first performance of an original song was in June of 2015, and he has hardly taken a breath since – performing, recording and writing a multitude of original songs. His self-released debut album, titled Today, Tonight, Tomorrow, has received radio play nationwide, with multiple chart appearances and positive reviews. Dawson’s style of performing is extremely entertaining, accompanying himself with a kick-drum and a tambourine set-up at his feet. He sings with a beautiful unique tone, and alternates between his acoustic and electric guitars.
