ABOUT THE BILLS (HEADLINER)

With two previous JUNO nominations and multiple Western Canadian Music Awards under their belts, expect the musical magic you’ve come to love from this extraordinary quintet. The Bills are renowned for their instrumental virtuosity, lush vocal arrangements, evocative songwriting, and a refreshing sound that transcends musical boundaries and defies simple categorization.

Strings, bellows, keys, voices, skin and bows – these are the vehicles for The Bills’ unique sonic approach. With individual band members sporting world-class credentials in folk/roots, jazz, classical and world music, The Bills truly are a Canadian acoustic music super-group, and their combined creative studio talent and explosive live shows have made them legendary folk/roots entertainers. Whether spinning on your recorded playlist, entertaining an intimate theatre audience or rocking a festival crowd of 10,000, these five gifted multi-instrumentalists are masters at somehow leaving listeners breathless and revitalized all at once. Each of the accomplished musicians in the band has had success releasing albums with their various solo projects, producing albums for other musicians, and touring and performing with other world-class artists.  But, they still come back together for rare concerts as The Bills, and the band is ecstatic to be back at the fabled Evergreen.

Marc Atkinson – mandolin, guitar, vocals
Adrian Dolan – fiddle, accordion, vocals
Chris Frye – guitar, lead vocals
Richard Moody – violin, viola, lead vocals
Scott White – upright bass, vocals

ABOUT LITTLE FOX (PRE-SHOW ARTIST)

Little Fox features the original songs of singer/multi-instrumentalist Alison Jenkins. Her first EP, Desire Lines, was released in Spring 2022, and her second EP, Ghost In This House, produced and recorded by World Peach Records, will be released May 19th. With vocals that can leap from high and ethereal to a whiskey-soaked gut punch – often in a single song – Little Fox explores genres from folk/pop to bluegrass to blues. Guided by the textures of violin, pedal steel, accordion, ukulele, and banjo, and locked in by a rock-solid rhythm section, Jenkins’ thoughtful original songs are about love, longing, belonging, women, urban history, and finding your way in strange times.
