Electoral Reform Panel Discussion
October 24, 2018 (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM) (PDT)
Description
Later this month, British Columbians will be voting in a referendum to decide the future of our electoral system. The outcome will decide how you, the voter, elect candidates to represent you as provincial MLAs. Do we keep our current First-Past the Post system or should we switch to a system of Proportional Representation? Not sure what either of these systems are?
Join the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce on October 24th for a panel discussion with members of the official proponent and opponent sides in the referendum to learn more about the voting systems on the ballot.
Audience participation and questions will be moderated through Slido. To submit questions and vote on questions, go to www.Slido.com & enter the event code TCCPR.
Introduction by:
Julie Brassington, District Electoral Officer for the Tri-Cities, Elections BC
