I AM SOMEONE Ending Bullying Society was formed by community leaders in Port Coquitlam following tragic suicides of a number of local youth.Our goal: Raise awareness of the issues facing youth today, provide youth with the first in Canada professionally supported texting platform and bring communities, organizations and the business community together to help be champions. Youth experiencing bullying may be scared and not know what to do. By sending an anonymous text message, they can access non-judgmental professional support and services in their community that can help. I AM SOMEONE has partnered with bc211 to provide this service. Anyone can TEXT 211 for help if they are feeling bullied alone or afraid.
We are proud to be hosting our 5th Annual Online Auction fundraiser. Thousands of dollars in merchandise and unique items are up for grabs such as “The RV’ing Adventure” which includes a 4 day rental in a motorhome equipped with convenience kits, camping table, camping tents …all you could ask for! Valued at $1000 this was kindly donated by Meridian RV. Or check out “The Ultimate Shopping Spree”, a very popular item which includes a $500 gift card to Coquitlam Centre, use of the Shopping Shuttle, a Personal Shopping Assistant and more. Travel the world or stay local and dine in at your favourite restaurant. Donations have been received from all over Metro Vancouver including many from the Tri-Cities Area. The auction site is now LIVE and through until October 18, 2018 until 9:00 pm PST at which time the auction closes. Bidders will need to register and will get a text or email message if they have been outbid. The highest bid wins! All successful bidders may pick up and pay for their items at Coquitlam Centre Customer Service during regular mall hours starting October 20 through Oct 28, 2018.
