Join tax specialist, Adam Plank CPA, CGA from Rise Advisors to discuss the business tax changes that have come into effect over the past couple years, what they mean for your business, and strategies to navigate the changes. 
 
The presentation will review:
  • the final income splitting rules
  • the BC speculation tax
  • the Employer Health Tax
  • and highlights from the 2019 BC Budget. 
Attend this information session to learn how employers and employees are being affected by the changes. Key highlights from the budget will provide attendees with the necessary knowledge to engage with and ask questions to the Honourable Carole James, Minister of Finance and Deputy Premier on March 1. Adam Plank, CPA, CGA

Adam is a Partner and head of the tax practice at Rise CPA. Adam has extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of taxation and business matters.

Adam joined Rise CPA in 2011. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at one of the large national accounting firms where he worked in the divestures group focusing on tax strategies for owners selling their businesses. His specialties include complex corporate reorganizations, international expansion, business and financing structures, marital and family disputes, employer/shareholder compensation, and various business succession and estate planning matters. He is adept at helping our clients enjoy maximum tax efficiency through his strategic approach to business acquisitions and divestitures.

Adam has completed all levels of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses in addition to the CPA Canada In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations Advanced Tax Course, and he continually works to stay current with changing tax legislation and policies. He has authored and/or updated courses for the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, including ?Income Taxes on Death? and ?Estates and Trusts?.
