In the spring of 2016, Lorna was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. During her year-long journey, she faced each day with remarkable courage, strength, and grace. She continued to cherish the simple moments that meant the most—golfing, sharing coffee with friends, and welcoming her two boys home for dinner. Even in the most difficult moments, Lorna’s warmth, resilience, and love for others left a lasting impression on everyone around her.
Lorna passed away on March 20, 2017, at Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody. While her final months were incredibly difficult for Lorna and her family, the compassionate care provided by the nurses and staff at Crossroads helped ensure she was comfortable, supported, and surrounded by the people she loved. That care made an immeasurable difference at a time when comfort, dignity, and presence mattered most.
The inaugural Lorna Comeau Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by her sons Cam and Kevin, and the Crossroads team, is a heartfelt tribute to Lorna’s life, her service to the community as an educator, the friendships she nurtured, and the legacy she leaves as a devoted mother.
Supporting this event is more than a contribution—it is a way to honor Lorna’s memory and help ensure that other patients and families receive the same compassionate care and support when they need it most. Funds raised will directly benefit improved care, in-patient programs, and family-focused hospice initiatives at Crossroads and throughout the community.
