ABOUT THE SHOW

Come in from the cold to spend an evening ‘In Winter’s House’ with vocal ensemble musica intima. Centering around Indian-American composer Reena Esmail’s ‘A Winter Breviary,’ the program traces a journey towards the longest night of the year, the solstice, and honours the dark while celebrating the return of the light.   

Through music of Sherryl Sewepagaham, Juhi Bansal, Joanna Marsh, and the late Jocelyn Morlock – and arrangements of familiar tunes by Joanna Forbes, Canadian folk trio The O’Pears, Trombone Shorty, and ensemble members – the ensemble will welcome the dawning light to illumine the darkness.  Known for their thoughtful programming and flawless execution, the voices of musica intima will warm your heart.
