The 2018 Festival du Bois opens with its second annual Friday Night Contra Dance, featuring live music from The Sybaritic String Band, Vancouver’s premier contradance band. Contra dancing is fun and zesty social dancing done in lines of couples to live traditional music. There's a dance caller who teaches easy "figures" on the spot, like in square dancing, and prompts you during the dance. It's easy! So come on your own or bring a partner – and have a great time! Everyone, from very first-timers to seasoned veterans are welcome! Suitable for adults and kids who are comfortable dancing with adults.
