WorkBC: Hiring in the Tri-Cities

What the presentation will cover:

• Finding suitable candidates and increasing your workplace diversity
• Covering some employee on-boarding costs, such as short-term training uniforms, and equipment
• Covering up to 50% of new employee wages for up to 24 weeks through the wage subsidy program
• Funding employer disability accommodations, including technology
• Publicize and facilitate hiring fairs through our network of employment centres
• Providing up to one year’s individualized support to both employers and employees to help ensure a mutually beneficial working relationship that lasts

What you will learn: 

•  WorkBC is the Employment Program of BC; It offers free services to job seekers and also employers. This session is focused on introducing WorkBC’s services to help employers find employees they need.

Araz Rismani has worked in employment service industry for the past 15 years. He is currently managing the Port Moody WorkBC centre operated by YWCA. His experience in the field includes job development, employment counselling, facilitation and program coordination.
